Since the founding of BioRiver e.V. on 30 June 2004, experienced managing directors from the life science sector, renowned scientists and important stake-holders have been involved in the BioRiver board and membership.
The following tasks are realized by the director’s board members:
- Strategic decisions and advice to the office
- Leadership of working groups
- Providing impetus for new initiatives
- Function as jury, host, trainer, coach in the BioRiver Boost! Start-up competition
- Spokesperson for BioRiver e.V. vis-à-vis politicians

I am on the board of BioRiver because
I see no reason why the Rhineland and North Rhine-Westphalia should lag behind Munich or the Rhine-Main area in the perception of the industry. Such a concentration of excellent research institutions, biotechnology industry and a far-sighted Ministry of Economics and Innovation make the location unique. It is important to network existing capacities and create the framework conditions under which real innovation can emerge.
