Members of BioRiver e.V.
Biotechnology and the life sciences are indispensable fields of research and development for society’s key future issues of health and nutrition, raw materials and energy, as well as environmental protection and sustainability. The Rhineland around the metropolises of Düsseldorf and Cologne, Aachen and Bonn, is one of the leading life science locations in Europe. With the globally active biotech, chemical and pharmaceutical industries based here, Europe’s densest and largest university network, many service providers and suppliers, as well as a now established start-up scene with technology parks and a network of experienced private investors and institutional financiers, the region has excellent conditions for the further prosperous development of the life science sector.
BioRiver – Life Science im Rheinland e.V. is the industry association for biotechnology and life sciences in this region. Under its umbrella, around 100 corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups, universities and research institutions as well as sponsors in municipalities, chambers, technology centres and capital are united. BioRiver offers a strong expert network of experienced entrepreneurs and managers, the platform for joint engagement of the members and is a voice for the sector vis-à-vis national politics.
The common interest of the stakeholders, the diversity and economic strength of the members and the geographical proximity of the organisations to each other are the foundation of the association’s work.
