On the topic:
Increasing digitalisation and changes in IT infrastructure are also creating new issues and challenges for the production-related control of all operational processes in companies. Yet very few companies have the luxury of being able to completely rebuild their production facilities on a so-called greenfield site.
The next meeting of the IT working group will focus on successfully integrating “existing” systems (legacy systems) into the further developed IT infrastructure.
Using the example of a production plant from the clinical sector, Josephine Müller-Gorski, Group Lead Global Device Integration at Miltenyi Biotec, explains fundamental issues in planning and implementation. It shows how the necessary interaction of Operation Technology (OT, the IT-supported operating technology for controlling plants) and contemporary IT infrastructure can be designed. The speaker pays special attention to the experience and knowledge gained in the project, which will also drive improvements for similar projects.
Topics that will be considered in depth in the lecture include
- Asset Management
- Connectivity
- Availability/Security
with an outlook on the orientation towards the IEC 62443 series of standards as a cyber security standard for industrial automation and control systems
As always, the lecture will be followed by a Q&A session in which any unanswered questions can be discussed together.
